confront them. the best thing to do is to talk things out. and if then they still don’t understand you, then it’s their loss. also, if they were really your friend, why would they spread rumors of you reading yaoi (this is considering that you only read in private). that much already tells you what kind of person they are. even if it’s not about BL or any other thing you like, and they decide to act that way with prejudice even if you guys talked things out, then cut your losses. they’re not a real friend.

i’m sorry to hear that. you don’t have to put up with him if you yourself know that he’s toxic. not only will it take a mental toll on you, but you’ll feel really prickly and on edge all of the time too. my advice is just to be direct. if he’s not gonna listen to you even if you earnestly explain, then that’s his problem. You don’t have to feel burdened in the first place. you’re not doing something wrong. it’s your life to begin with. who is he to tell you what you should and shouldn’t like?
