Well, being direct and preaching is never entertaining and smart. It's always good when you've got a message is to deliver without just writing " 2 guys love each other, violence is bad, rape isn't nice" that's too lame, and the hero/heroine giving speeches after rape attempt is just too unrealistic to let go.. Actually I believe Yaoi should be 18+ , since I'm a bit of an adult (28) I don't enjoy such, but others might so that's nice... Everyone got their own taste.
Well it did romanticize abuse, so, meh, whatever but people who don't realize there was a reason for Hazuki to give his 'lame' (<----ableist) speech really make me wonder what the heck they were reading. Those who think he shouldn't have given it are being just as bad as those who romanticize rape. They think that there is only one way to respond to rape and not responding to it in that strict, narrow manner, therefore automatically delegitimizes that rape.
(Caution: Extreme Candor Alert) Alright, I do like this story for what it is. It's a cutesy little love story - fine, all good, fluff, fluff, fluff.
BUT Holy Moses is this plot cliché!! I admit, maybe it's my age talking (I'm in my early 20s), but it the message conveyed is so overused in anime, other manga, cartoons, books, video games (I'm looking at you Bioshock!) but yeah....good for a boring night alone, but my goodness...**Take this "rant" with a grain of salt.**
