You’re really passionate about this huh? You’ve been responding to literally everyone. I *never* said nobody is allowed to read manga/hwa that incorporates rape. But you cannot excuse/make lite of it because it’s “hot steamy sex” in your eyes. I do not care if you read it, I care if you romanticize it and/or make it out to be anything other than what it is— rape.
Gurl, you clearly has no idea about Japan porn industry and the whole hentai thing. It's not just for run but for pleasuring people who have "weird" fantasy that they can't fulfill it in real life. Either because it's impossible or they know it's wrong and they can't do it.
Yes, Rape is wrong and liking it makes you one of the worst people living on earth. But some people do get turned on about it.
People have weird tings they love, and some people have it on sexual ways.
I personally know someone who love old dudes. Not 40s, 50s, but 70 y.o with all wrinkles.
She can't really be with 70+ y.o, so she watches Japan porn with this whole "grandpa-young girl" type of videos.
You never heard about people who are really obsessed with thriller novels that filled with brutal murders?
They love it.
Will they ever do it? Hell no.
Any human being with who still have their sanity know what's right and wrong.
They know bounderies.
People who easily judged someone for having weird/wrong doings FANTASY, y'all need to open yourself to different kinds of people.
┑( ̄Д ̄)┍
And your opinion isn't relevant to the that IT'S FICTION/FANTASY.
You're making it as if people don't have weird/scary fantasy. They do.
Just because you never met people like that in real life, probably because most of them hiding it afraid of being judged by society, doesn't mean they don't exist.
You're trying to relate one thing to real life situation but you completely ignored another side of that real life situation.
What a joke.
From where do you think Korean manhwa with this whole "hentai" theme from? Japan porn industry.
Before Kpop wave started back in 2010, popular Asian culture and market is from Japan.
It influences deep in many Asian countries especially Korea and China.
Do you want me to give you another long explanation about culture influence in neighboring countries?
I don’t care if you read it. I care if you romanticize it, which is clearly what most people in the comments are doing. I don’t care what sick and twisted fetish you have, if you’re openly excusing rape and passing it off as ‘hot sex’ you’re a weirdo, and I’m gonna say something. Again, your point is irrelevant to the fact that it’s rape.
LOL again
This person clearly don't know the difference between FICTION and REAL LIFE, and completely out of touch with different society.
Rambo has a big fan base when most of his actions are KILLING PEOPLE. People think he's hot. So romanticize him romanticize killer?
That applies for many other "hot actors" that play roles as killers.
I don't care if you live secluded and didn't grasp that people have their fantasy, if you cherry pick real life case, completely shame people because you think people should be the same, you're an idiot.
Again, you completely IGNORE the FACTS THAT I STATED ABOVE, which RELATED TO how you perceive people in their own mind with actual crimes which is ridiculous.
And that makes you an ignorant.
You can keep living in bubble and shaming "weirdo", but expect to be called out.
People who couldn't grasp full reality and just thinking things as black and white, which clearly you are, should just stay away from Yaoi if you're gonna criticize everything.
Very typical.
Thinking their mindset should be everyone mindset and have this "bad culture should not be kept, rape in Yaoi should be vanished".
Gurl, just go.
You're not welcomed in this community.
Go back to your bubble and be a hero for your own little wolrd.
you keep writing these paragraphs as if it has any impact on what I'm saying. you saying "well some people like that stuff" doesn't change that its rape. And you keep putting words in my mouth. I never said you're not allowed to reap rape tropes, I said I have a problem with people romanticizing it. Openly, at that. You're bringing nothing of substance to the table.
Just to give you some slap of reality, especially in Yaoi/Hentai/Smut community.
You're criticizing elements that made this whole genre, fantasy/fiction/something that's impossible or not accepted in real life they bring it in the story.
LOL, as if you openly have a problem with that is gonna do anything to the community. It's not. If anything, it'll only spark a one-side argument and most people would likely to go agaisnt you.
LOL.
I bring you facts and some common sense.
If at this point you still don't get it and thinking my words were useless or irrelevant, congrats, that just prove my point that you're an idiot and ignorant.
Ever heard of a missionary who went to an isolated tribe to guide them to Jesus?
That's how it is with your idea against the community.
No matter how you think it's the right, it makes NO SENSE for the community.
I warned you.
You can keep believing in what you believe, but the keep it to your bubble.
This is the community, weirdos (according to you).
When 95% of the community are "weirdo" and only 5% "normal", the weirdos are not weirdos. The normal people are the weirdo.
Now, hush hush weirdo
It's ok because it's fiction. It's not okay in real life, that's why they put that on fiction.
If you're gonna play a "triggering trauma" card, there's a disclaimer in most of rape-scene or rape-based manga in recent years. And yes, some people out there get "excited" for those kind of things.
People can avoid it.
But no, instead of skip the manga and stop reading it, they decided to write an essay about how rape-themed manga is not right, people who enjoyed it is disgusting, bla bla bla.
I can't stand scenes where people piss during sex or on someone else's face, getting fisted, or double penetration, those kind of things. So I skipped those parts, and if that's a huge part of certain manga's storyline then I'll drop the manga.
It's that simple.
Did you even read all of my comments?
Here, I'll copas this for you:
"You never heard about people who are really obsessed with thriller novels that filled with brutal murders?
They love it.
Will they ever do it? Hell no."
"Rambo has a big fan base when most of his actions are KILLING PEOPLE. People think he's hot. So romanticize him romanticize killer?
That applies for many other "hot actors" that play roles as killers"
Romanticize killers, liking the murders or the killing scenes, those what you get from people who loves thriller movies/gore movies.
Yet I never see any reviews of people criticize the murder in murder themed movie, or criticize a fan base of actors who played the murderers.
And why would people think protesting about rape in fiction is just ridiculous?
Because they just focus on the word rape and throw away the word fiction.
And especially in the whole yaoi or hentai genre:
"You're criticizing elements that made this whole genre, fantasy/fiction/something that's impossible or not accepted in real life they bring it in the story."
You just embarrassing yourself right now.
I'll quote my comment again,
"Ever heard of a missionary who went to an isolated tribe to guide them to Jesus?
That's how it is with your idea against the community.
No matter how you think it's the right, it makes NO SENSE for the community."
That doesn't make sense for you?
Your argument obviously doesn't make sense for us :)
Lol, it took you it took you minutes to reply.
That means you don't even think about all my comments above explaining things from the history of Yaoi and Hentai, etc.
You're missing a a FICTION there honey.
Murdering culture is out there, many extremist cults do that.
No one justifying the rape.
Rape in real world is wrong.
But in a plot of a FICTION YAOI MANGA? That happens, in many ways, and that's okay.
Same with murder based movis/manga/novel.
They know it's part of the FICTION story, even the main story, and they like it because it's part of the plot.
Girl, you don't even understand the arguments above why tf are you meddling in? (≧∀≦)
Excusing what’s happening by making the claims “Soo-Young only wanted him to stop because the feeling was new to him” or “He’d never felt such pleasure before, he’s being over stimulated” is ridiculous. The only way I’ll buy into this “no actually means keep going” BS you guys are on is if there is a safe-word in use, which, there clearly isn’t. This is the most obvious case of irony, where the viewer/reader is aware of something other characters are not. We may be aware of the exact reason Soo-Young is saying stop, but Tae-Seung doesn’t.
Nobody is saying you’re not allowed to read Manhwa that incorporates rape or uses a rape trope, it’s the romanticizing of it that matters. You cannot have read this chapter, where Soo-Young tells Tae-Seung to stop multiple times, and come out of it thinking this isn’t rape. Did you read some sort of secret, exclusive version of the chapter that no one else did? Nobody but Soo-Young can hear his internal monologue. When he heard the word “stop”, Tae-Seung should have stopped what he was doing and waited for the green light.
Which he didn’t, he took advantage of Soo-Young’s uncertainty and kept going despite constantly being told to stop. The rules of rape are not magically changed just because it takes place in a fictional world.
