Zhanxi mentions in the beginning that Jian yi disappeared the second day of high school. They story so far is like a big flash back leading up to that time. In the present time they are college age (about 18/19), but the story right now is when they are last year middle school students (about 15).

Well okay, I don't know why, but this plot and kind of drawing makes me think that something bad is about to happen, so kinda fits in the story.
But I still hope that these two dorks end up together AND fine, of course.
