whats weird is i thought the summary makes it clear this a fantasy thing? did i assume that wrongly and most people just thought its a normal romance about a horny office worker? cause then ya i guess that's frustrating but otherwise like...HOW do they thing their first sexual encounters would go if not him using his powers on her in some capacity. and incubi and succubi are pretty common for fantasy smut cause their entire being revolves around sex! (the only thing that would bother me is if he used his power ot make her love him or obey him instead of just lust after him. and so far thats not the case so idk what ppl are upset about except that apparently they have nothing better to do.)
yeah seems like they just ignored that he ISN'T human. some people are really oversensitive. I mean if it really was rape I'd totally understand the reactions. But in this case you can't say the sex happens 100% without her consent. Since even when her head becomes clear in the middle of it, yes she thinks it's weird how it got this far, but she never hates it. Because she was seduced as you said. And when she didn't like it she pushed him away. But reading what I wrote just now again I also realize that it could sound a bit controversial... On the other hand Incubi and Succubi are a special case after all! (╯°Д °)╯╧╧
She has clearly said she cannot remember how it starts and how it happens every time. That means she was hypnotized and therefore could not consent prior. What the bracelet has been trying to do is cancel the hypnotism, in chapter 10 the incubus is seen wondering why the hypnotism is wearing off. Which means she's hypnotized, could not consciously consent and was being sexually harassed and rape without her consent and knowledge. The incubus "said" in the dream that he did "take advantage" of her. ¯ _(ツ)_/¯
P.S: Yes, I know he's an incubus and that he's "programmed to be that way" (feeding off women's life energy through sex) but that doesn't cancel the rape and manipulation. Yes, I know this is fiction but *some people* having that kind of mindset (rape apologist bc the guy is good-looking) is messed up, whether fiction or not. ¯ _(ツ)_/¯
my issue isnt "is it rape or not" its that this question shouldnt even be asked in this kind of scenario. a fantasy creature cannot be held to the same standard or expectation as a human man. otherwise...whats the point? the whole reason theser Magical Creature x Woman stories happen is because these (usually male) beings are unlike human men, thats both the appeal and what can make them scary/dangerous/unsuitable partners. the fact that he's approaching her like this or originally used his power on her (assuming he wont for much longer if he even still is, ive only skimmed chpts to see if its my thing, i wont read in earnest until there's at least 20 chpts released) is part of the conflict that will be at the center of the story. how will this woman fall in love with this non human? how will their love even work? CAN their love work? people fixating on the problematic nature of his "courtship" (which...if this iis following the actual folklore, he saw her first as a literal meal not a prospective romantic partner) are essentially missing the forest for the trees. debating if its "consenusal" or not is imo the entirely wrong perspective to come at this story with. by virtue of his very Being, he is there to invade her dreams and stoke her desire in order to feed his existence. its like being angry at a wild animal for trying to eat a lil rabbit, its just doing what its meant to do and the weird part is him catching feelings for her/the rabbit not him using his powers on her. and also for the record hypnotism is not what incubi/succubi do, it's more like a magical aphrodisiac, u just get insanely horny and lose ur sense of reason or even of time or place. no that doesnt = consent but its not the same as mind control. that said it doesnt Matter either way because incubi dont exist and this could literally never ever happen this comic isnt harming anybody and if u are uncomfortable with it thas fine but there's zero reason to debate the ethics of sexual consent between sex demons and the humans they have sex with. (i hope u dont tkae this as an attack on u its more like me feeling frustrated at how uptight and wrongheaded some people on this website can be. this is such a non issue omg)
He seduce him by his looks and by having her dream about him. While the hypnotism was used for all the employees in the company to trick that hes been there for awhile. If you have seen the rooftop scene she was able to refuse him. It means the bracelet is working and it's making her aware of the surrounding and all this time, she had the choice if she wanted to give in to temptation or not.
