I think he wanted a beautiful woman back home and had enough money and power to do whatever he wanted without worry about his reputation. Marrying a prostitute harmed the honor of their family quite a lot, but I guess the author forgot that nobles are supposed to mind that.
I very much like the plot, but I quite don't get. Why did the count marry Aria's mother? Like he doesn't seemed to be in love with her.
I was so annoyed with the misunderstanding like biss, that bitch didn't deserve those gifts and attention.
