I mean yea... it’s a form of torture and there is a reason that people beg to be killed during said torture, because it’s worse then dying, and that goes for any form. I definitely think it’s to much, I kinda get uncomfortable with it at times and think he should just kill them instead, they are really horrible people and I don’t feel bad for them at all. It’s not only that it happened in the ‘past’ for him, if he didn’t fight to protect himself they would have done it all over again, I only see it as self defence. Though I’m not ok with how he’s doing it, just because those bad things happened to you doesn’t mean it’s alright to do it back.
