The anime made the manga even better! Still I give lots of credit to the original too because it continues to be interesting, and has a kind of unity as a whole.
By the way I saw the first half of the anime movie version, but I like the TV version better, I wonder why.

mine is actually the other way around, the manga is perfect for me. The art has IMPROVED a lot since chapter 1 by a milestone. I love how subtle everything is on the manga (not that it isn't on the anime), I really didn't know what to expect to happen! But the relationship development in the manga was far superior to the anime, since they've changed some key scenes in character relationships (aka Armin and Eren in the last episode when eren was recovering) and instead they've mostly focused it on Mikasa... *sigh*
But the animes still has it's great points, like the 3dmg scenes that truly captures the mobility of the gear than something on the paper can (UNLESS it's OPM)
I'm really into the dynamic scenes in anime so I really liked it. In manga there're just pictures and I can't really say it satisfies me. I'm a person that really likes fast action and small things like the kind of voice's tone, the changing of ppl's gaze, action, fast reacting and you can't really show that off in manga so that's a pity for me. Anyway it's individual, I just liked the anime better :^)

Okay, the manga is really great, but the anime is a masterpiece. Actually my favorite one, everything is pretty much the contrast of an ordinary series, it took all my heart. Literally. Waiting forward for the season 2 and next chapters.
