not cute just super rapey

When the Messiah series got translated, everyone was completely surprised - this was really the cutest work by Harada, but you have to read the whole thing to fully appreciate it. Harada is known for some of the most twisted, dark stories you could imagine (in one story, an uke hired a group of guys to gangbang the seme on a train, because he was too afraid to do anything, and prefers to watch from under the seme as he gets pounded. Yeah.) Note that this is merely the first part of a 3 part series. The whole story is as shown below:

The seme was actually hired by the Uke's friend to rape then throw him away, so that the uke would be forever scarred and turn to the friend for comfort.

However, the seme had fallen for the uke during this three-part run, and by the end of the story, they had extremely hot, *consensual* sex after mutually confessing their feelings. The manga did not shy away from the fact that it *was* rape in the beginning, and was touched on and dealt with by the final chapter. (This is already translated and released today, by the way.)

I liked what the translator explained about the seme's way of speaking. He speaks in a childish, cutesy, almost schoolgirl tone in Japanese: "This is really Harada’s sweetest story! no lies! I saw everyone badmouthing mr. seme on the web but hey he’s so cute! He’s like a big whimsical kid on the outside, but a real sweetheart on the inside"

But I may say this as well:
Rape turned love is awful. Just to think about it in a real life context makes me sick.
But of course this isn't real life, it's a story, a BL trope. But even if it is like that we shouldn't ignore the subject and take it lightly, that's why @maki might be annoyed and even troubled by people's reactions.
I'm also troubled when girls (children, maybe) say: "OMG, soooo cute! :3" to a rape scene or a forced relationship. This is why this kind of manga is rated 18+ because these kids might know "rape is wrong" but if they haven't experienced sex or relationships, they might take this as an example, even if it looks outrageous, it is a possibility.
Fantasies are fantasies but sometimes the comments make us doubt about kids really understanding this.

Even so, I understand that you called it cute, because you are comparing it to other Harada's works (compared to Kanda Neko's works, this isn't cute at all!), but that kind of comparison only shows how messed up are the themes of her works. Ughhh. But WTH! I also liked messed up stories, although I always prefer consensual.
