What makes me sad about Rebecca is how in order for women to have a chance of inheriting a position in her world, they have to become extraordinarily talented and history-changing. But even if a man (not all men) is mediocre at best, he’ll still be prioritized and be given similar privileges.

    Gah there is a word for this!!! I’m forgetting it but it describes this idea that marginalized people have to work twice as hard to be considered adequate in the workplace and get punished more for their mistakes. Like how if your a woman in the workplace you have to have a way better resume and yet sometimes you still get paid less than men for the same job.

    You’re close! Glass elevator refers to how men have a significantly faster path to success when entering a female-dominated profession. I think you’re talking about glass ceiling, which is about how successful women still have barriers.
