I think Jin is a fascinating character, but the crown prince betrayed Suu first, kept him locked up, wiped his memories, broke his foot, and lied to him for like a 100 chapters straight. Suu never trusted the noble consort lady, he just wanted to be free from the prince and made a mistake in believing he would be free after he did what she asked. I hope Nadan is still alive though, I think he is.
Nope, Suu lost a bit of his memory Everytime the crown prince healed him. Crown prince has the right to hide his identity to protect himself and his plan. For me Suu is too smart , too stupid and selfish. If he open up his problem to the crown prince, if he tell him earlier about his plan with the devil concubine , his friend might not be dead(assume the fire caught up) or the crown prince might free his friend. But he did not, he rather trust those bad people and continued his escaped plan. The crown prince never harm him. Instead he is safer there. But he chose to escape the country. He's to smart to betrayed the seme but too stupid to trust the devil.

Suu's plan was always to run away with Nadan. no one should be surprised that he finally made the move and tried to escape.
Everyone is flawded here, there is no perfect. And thats exactly what i love about this story. Not white or black, but grey. Mistake will, and, are made. And its interesting to see how the characters will deal with them. That mskes a story real.
He always plan to run away but Nadan didn't agree cause he knows they don't have or don't know a safer place to live. The crown prince paid him to do it and he's safer there than being with the devil woman as an accomplice. Many times Suu was very careless, he moved without thinking the consequences. He's careless sometimes hurt the person who adore him especially his bestfriend and the crown prince. He ruined the crown prince plan and his friends quiet life. And it was his fault that the dragon craved more human. He asked him to rain for few days. If he trust the crown prince the devil woman won't success his plan. Lucky that the crown prince is smart and powerful too...
Because of the favor he ask to the dragon he himself suffer more... If he just stayed quiet and honest none of those happened.
He's too impulsive, remember how he brought the other person lost his tongue because he pester him.

Yes, I agree with you entirely. Suu was smart but he was incredibly stupid to believe the consort. He chose his allies rather poorly.
