Pretty sure those were just brief little scenes of what happened. It looks to me that he was having a dream or flashbacks to when he was adopted, being happy with his new parents, and then his happiness cut short by his parents being killed. He awoke from his nightmare and probably is seeking vengeance for his parent’s death, by wanting to become an assassin. However it looks like mr Joaquin doesn’t want him to become an assassin so he scared him off. Guess one of the other mafia members spotted him and tricked him into getting the book from some dangerous perverts who like young looking people like him

So i think when his adoptive parents were killed, he wants to kill the person responsible for their deaths, but cant do it so he is hiring an assassin. Or wants to become one(an assassin i mean) but the other dude is like "naaah your too weak, plus you don't know who killed your adoptive parents" so he turns him down, but that shit employee tricked him into thinking that he can goin them(the assassins) if he gets that book from that old pervert. So.... yeah i think is something like that.
Bruh I'm hella confused what is this transitioning one moment he's celebrating his b-day with his adopted parents and the next moment he woke up in a completely different place with a stranger sitting next to him and the next thing you know he's become a prostitute and selling his body to a lech for a... book??
Also was that the Virgin Mary who adopted him?
