I FOUND IT!!!!! Turns out its not yaoi but shoujo but still I'm SO happy I found it cause this has been bugging me forever!
I believe it might have been yaoi and set in Tokyo. The main character was supposed to inherit some head leadership of sorts and that head can summon a Phoenix. Didn't work for him and instead popped out a tiny chicken. Oh! The other guy put a bead bracelet on his arm that does something. Sadly that's as much as I remember but I really want to read it again
