lock is undergoing his berserk mode. beast ppl goes into their berserk mode, its kind of a level up with their abilities. in the original story, lock isnt suppose to go berserk for now thats why cale is shocked. the trigger for lock's berserk mode in the original story (the one cale/kim rok soo read before transmigrating) is someone's death from their party, its the death of the healer called pendrick.

each berserk mode for beast ppl varies. families are supposed to contain the berserk mode and they need to talk to them, reassure them, and not hurt their family member whos undergoing the berserk mode. in this case, choi han and rosalyn will act as lock's family to calm him down. theres no going out of their berserk mode, they have to deal with it even if it takes hours until they return to normal
