The host industry should set a limit on drinks per night or smth. Better than them losing their hosts to liver disease then again, they probably don't care much because it's been a standard in the industry for so long
I’m relieved that his illness didn’t lead to anything fatal. It may not be a well-known fact (I was pleasantly surprised to see this addressed in this manga), but hosts in clubs can potentially become severely sick from their job, due to the crazy amount of alcohol they consume during the job. For the most part, they don’t drink because they want to, but do so because their clients spend BANK on expensive bottles and hosts need to appease their clients by drinking heavily. There’s a good documentary called “Great Happiness Space” that addresses a lot of what happens within a host club. Sad, really :’((
