bruh these posts about her behavior, i didn't think it would be this divided, personally when i read the first chapter i was slightly disturbed. you guys have to remember that she STALKED A 10 YEAR OLD BOY, she literally said she did herself, idk bout you but that's crEEPY.
i like this webtoon a lot and i really enjoy the updates and i think her relationship with abel is really cute but that's because she actually kNOWS HIM NOW. this isn't 'fangirling', i don't think fangirls would want the label of 'stalker', fangirling is not a problem if you are on the internet and giving harmless notes of admiration but the fact that she went out of her way to follow him is-
i don't think the author meant any malice by this, they probs thought it was 'quirky' and a way to advance the plot so i don't hold contempt but it does make me a bit mad to see comments about how i am the problem because i see this as creepy, or how people will normalize her behavior.

that is a part of stan culture in korea, but she’s not in korea now is she? she’s in a different world, and what she does (stalking, following, buying gifts) is considered creepy and predatory. he’s just ... Moon

Umm yes she's not in korea, but the author is korean and she created ayesha as representation of a korean fangirl (since ayesha even teach anne her maid about stan terminology and all), this webtoon is also most likely meant for korean audience who will understand ayesha's behavior

If you find her creepy and predatory, it's your opinion, i mean yes the setting is not in korea, but we can't brush off the point that ayesha is like this because she's created by an korean author, and the author obviously doesn't mean to make ayesha creepy and predatory right?

Btw how long as she been in that world for 5 years? Or is it 3 years? And when did she first start kinda stanning him from afar? I forgot how long was she in that world and expose to new culture but I do remember that she didn’t immediately(like asap right away when she came into a new body) start “stanning” him by being in the same place if u get what I mean like when she travel to the north to look at abel from afar. Don’t mark me for my info but I think she said she transmigrated to that world five years ago? And three years ago she uhh gifted him the sword? Yea I think it was three years ago because her family was “sponsor” by a someone (her fake name and identity) around that time. Therefore she had been exposed to the new culture for around two years but her Korean’s stanning culture/habit been w her basically much longer throughout her career back in Korea. Idk how long she’s been stanning but she did say stanning is her life back in Korea (and maybe now too). Throughout her two years in this new world while she had been adapting to the culture but her mindset from Korean stanning culture is not and would not be “completely” gone just as let’s say an immigrant moving into a new country but will still keep some her their own culture (because their view and idea can’t be completely changed in short amount of time).
For reference my idea and the way I define “culture” might be different from what u think or yours because that’s how I label and group specific stuff.
Culture for me includes mindset( the way how you think which impacts the way how you act in my word), tradition, and custom. I guess habits would also be kinda included like it just depends. If it’s habit that’s like developed from your mindset because that’s just what everyone do in your community u also like unknowingly “copy” them too. Anyways culture is a really broad term and obvious is not just limited to those words( those are the one I can only think of rn).

But what I meant is that a lot of what she did and what she might think is “normal” can’t really be like gone or changed immediately just because she came into a new body and world. Sure it’s could change overtime but I don’t think there’s like a lot people(or maybe there is but we don’t know because it’s not given and we can’t really assume w no additional info) around her during her earlier two years In this new world telling her stanning is bad or like chastising her for her thoughts and action.

This is just my opinion and observation but I do think her “stanning” in recent chapters are a lot toned down and a lot less extreme. Character development? Maybe yea. You don’t really see her peeping at child abel while he’s studying or like sneaking into his room and watch him sleep. Maybe because they spend more time together so there’s no need for her to even “Stan”(like looking at him from afar w/o him knowing) but more like she’s just “fangirling” over his cuteness while she’s alone or w her maid Ann or Anne I forgot.

And wow I learned a lot under this thread lmao I didn’t even know stanning was like kpop fan culture. I originally wanted to say “harmless” stanning in the previous sentence but figure it might be misunderstood from what people perceive as harmless. I didn’t want to say harmless since I guess yk like lucie? Or one of the commenters mentioned idols are aware of the group and have a “friendly” relationship w them but like we also don’t know if they’re pretending to do that so they don’t put themselves at risk or yadayada. So I guess I would label it as “harmless” in a sense that they’re not tryna stab or kill them or smth but also stanning is not completely “harmless” as it might also cause like paranoia or ptsd by the receiver(or victim however your view it)

Am I contradicting myself too? Sure yes but isn’t English and language all about your interpretation? Just like how people would read Shakespeare’s work and each have different interpretations and thoughts about it. If it’s anything I learned back in school then this would be it. Doesn’t matter whether someone agree or disagree w my view as long as they like try to understand where my point and view is coming from lol
