The main character doesn't call the original owner ugly, it was the original owner that called herself ugly and had an inferiority complex. She called herself ugly waaay before getting fat. She got fat from the stress of feeling inferior for being "ugly"; which the MC commented would have been normal if the original owner was in a normal family. Not one filled with beauties.
