How is losing weight fatphobic? Tho it would’ve been cool if she kept the same weight, there’s nothing wrong with losing some, and most people don’t like gaining weight in the first place. Unless there were fatphobic comments I don’t see the problem.

not everything is bad. she was obese and obesity is a disease!! she made a healthy choice for her own good so she could live a healthier and longer life. Fat shaming is not okay but promoting obesity is also not okay. if ppl are obese they should get treated for it

I think that she was labelled as ugly before she gained weight, the weight gain happened due to her feeling depressed and having low self esteem because of all the ride mean comments

but she was pretty from the start. The ppl around her compared her to her siblings and parents and said she was the ugly one and that in turn made her think she was ugly. That’s how the title came about i feel like. She was pretty but not as pretty as her family. And then she got depressed, stress ate and became obese. She didn’t look healthy at all. she looked seriously stressed and obese. characters are drawn thinner, so in real life she would be obese and in the manhwa she would also be considered obese.

Well, from the synopsis, it's clear that she'll be considered a stunning lady, so she's not exactly ugly from the start.

And the whole point is that she is actually drawn beautifully... Besides her weight. And her makeover is going to change exactly that, judging by the cover.

There is also the fact that the manga version of fat is a person with an average western weight. That's not a my 600lb life patient.

And with due respect, as an ex-fat person, I can tell you that it's really rude to talk about fat people's bodies under the argument of "health" . One wouldn't do that to a cancer patient or a pregnant person. Fat bodies are not a public subject either, unless we're talking about accessibility. When I was fat, it was really tiring to deal with people making comments about my body because of "health".

A synopsis is centered around the story as a whole, not from the start. I’m talking about from since she was a little kid when i say start. Make up? Even if she does makeup if she keeps up with her habit of overeating which leads to her being overweight no makeup will be able to hide her pimples, dark circles and unkempt hair. With all due respect i am literally recovering from anorexia and have finally managed to stay at a measly 40kg for over 2 weeks now which is a great feat for me. I didn’t know i was underweight until it was too late because ppl on the internet kept preaching on about body positivity and not talking about the issue itself. Everyone has a different experience with their body u related urself to this character and i related myself. I only started noticing when ppl told me but u didn’t like ppl telling u. that’s ur story and i’ve got mine.

Freckles/acne/whatever it was if the author was saying that she is ugly because of her weight then the gain weight would have started a lot sooner. She would have been chubby/bigger from a young age and it would have been that which would cause people to look down on her.

And the point doesn't matter when it comes to cause and effect. Her gain weight wasn't what got her labelled as ugly, she was labelled as ugly before because of acne or freckles, having brown hair and not being as angelic looking as her siblings (main reason.) Based on context clue I assume it's also due to self neglect e.g. hair not being brushed. The point is that she isn't meant to be ugly ugly, she is simply meant to be seen as "lesser" than her siblings. Within the household her siblings were prioritised, within wider society, she lacked self esteem and became an easy target.

If you payed closer attention you would have noticed those details. You just say it's because of her weight because you associate "ugly" with "fat". She is bigger, that's just a current feature of her appearance, sure that might change in the future but that does make how she looked before bad or ugly. My brown hair isn't bro anymore, is blue but u know what? It wasn't it was brown, it was simply brown. Frankly I don't like the focus we as a society face on beauty, it's way too attached to self worth while it shouldn't be.

Personally I think that its really the change in personality and her gaining confidence that truly makes her to from normal to beautiful.
