Even Though I like the manga I disapprove how they practically put the "mother-roll" as a servant too. A mother isn't automatically a housekeeper, that's really an old time of thinking.
And the new guy is too happy and all smiley smiley...it gives me the impression that he doesn't takes things seriously or is simply stupid. A person who only gives one single emotion in a manga isn't to my liking xP I really like the manga tho, I will keep reading it c:
well you have to remember their culture majority of the woman don't work they stay at home and clean cook and all that other stuff so i guess thats what they mean i see no problem with it
well, actually my culture also like that. Majority of mother stay at home and take care all of stuff. They cooking, washing clothes, do all the chores. I'm asian, by the way. -__-
It just about culture and where you live. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I wasn't tring to insult this culture I just don't like that way of thinking that all. how I can be insulting a culture that I love , maybe I let myself a little carried away but our days sexism is so present and trivializing that it's annoys me to se something like this in a manga where author are generally women. I don't insult the culture but give my thay of thinking about a fact
Its not a fact. it's an opinion. You love the Japanese culture? Then you should know that they had problems and that basically didn't interact with anyone outside of their country for like 200 years. Of course, they will be more cautious about 'new world' orders. You should give their way of thinking a go first. I'm a girl myself and I don't like sexism, but they were that way for centuries. It's hard to get out of such a way of thinking, with only younger generations thinking the way you do. And that's not all of them either.
I'm just saying what I read about on the internet, books and what my professor (who has been to Japan several times in his life) told me :)
No, you're not the only one to think that way. I agree with you Fanny. I'm a woman too and I don't like sexism. I always find annoying to see that the role of a mother is to cook, clean, look after the children, etc and the role of a father is to work at his job.
I'm also French and am from Paris too (even if I don't live near Paris anymore) so I understand what you say. I think French men are still some big progress to make for parity (like in the worldwide) and the fight of the women is not over unfortunately.
When I read a manga and see that sort of cliches, even if I find them irritating as a woman who likes her freedom (and would like the freedom of every women in the world), I keep in mind that the culture in very different in Japan. I read articles on the Internet to know more about their culture to also understand more the mangas and the society. It helped me a lot to understand the differences. But, I'm glad because I've also read some mangas where there were no roles, where both men (or straight couples) were doing the house cores and were working at their jobs too so I think it's a good start to change the habits ;)
frankly i like the fact that they joked about it, its not that they meant any disrespect but its turned into a joking matter because its woman staying home and acting like that is more low key nowadays and the fact that he keeps wearing the frilly apron makes it seem like its ok for anyone to wear it and its for both genders and the fact that he's taken the role and has not been slacking off means that he really cares just like a (mother) ie woman would. if you think like that its makes it seem more like there giving respect rather than trying to put girls down.
seem nice ... but wait mother are house-kepper ? I don't really like the way they put that, but it's looks promising
