Just ignore them. Life is full of assholes, if you give them undue attention they’ll just be worse. Just ignore them, learn from your mistakes, and move on. You did the best you could and tried to fix your mistake and that’s admirable. This particular asshole just thrives off attention and being a ‘holier than thou’.
