It was Nakyum who said that. He said it when Seungho asked him in chap 49 about why he was so submissive. His words haven been replaying in Seungho's mind as thought bubbles. That's why he told Nakyum at the end of chap 62 that Nakyum was right. Honestly that explains his pain a lot. Seungho's inner self probably has been reflecting those words ever since to convince himself not to fall in love with Nakyum, yet he can't help it. He only finally came to accept those words when Nakyum "accidentally" admitted that he "ran away" by not telling Seungho about the kidnap.
That wasn’t what Nakyum said. It was a thought that Seungho had after “grilling”Nakyum about why he has become so obedient, and Nakyum responded with basically because he enjoys having sex with him and has never verbally expressed emotional feelings for Seungho as yet. (I don’t think that Nakyum knows how to feel or express it considering everything) Seungho took what Nakyum said as a confirmation of that thought.
Although understandable, I don’t think that it’s something that Nakyum would say or think. And as it’s a thought bubble and if it was Nakyum who thought it, how would Seungho have known Nakyum’s words. Plus the placement of it was mostly near Seungho.
I see your point but somehow i think it’s conflicting. If the bubbles with radiating lines represent both thoughts and memories, then there’s a chance that Nakyum said it out loud before and Seungho has been replaying those words in his mind since chap 49. I think Byeonduck didn’t want to show us the panels where Nakyum literally said it out loud because she wanted to trick readers into thinking that those were Seungho‘s thought, only to reveal the plot twist later that those words were actually said by Nakyum. In chap 53 when Seungho went to get Nakyum for the orgy, the lines “we’re just two naked body..” were placed right upon the panel which showed Nakyum’s face. This might indicate that Nakyum’s face always reminds Seungho about the words he had said before. But above all, what convinced me the most was when Seungho said „you were right“ to Nakyum in chap 62. So, what was he right about? Therefore i strongly believe that it was Nakym who said it, but it’s interesting to see other people’s opinion like yours :D
OK *rolls up sleeves* here we go.
I understand your POV and going over your examples and rereading those chapters here are my thoughts (again, hopefully it’s clearer, lol).
As for the bubbles with the radiating lines, yes they are both thoughts and memories of something that has been said. Basically our window into what a character is thinking.
If we look back at chapter 49 where the line “We are just two naked bodies…”originates, yes those bubbles are near Seungho, but if you look at his face he’s clearly deep in thought and not saying much while Nakyum is exclaiming at the same time. He uses this thought to shove his feelings of insecurity to the side and decides to continue to live a hedonistic lifestyle because it suits him. This is what makes me think that this line is definitely attributed to Seungho.
In Chapter 53, as you mentioned, Seungho is remembering Lord Min’s words and then immediately his own thoughts come back to him, but this time as a way of dismissing Lord Min’s words and forces himself to get Nakyum for the orgy. This thought also attempts to dismiss his own actions from Chapter 50, where the POV of Seungho looking down at Nakyum after “grilling” him and having that moment of panic where he thought he had hurt him again. He then kisses him and backs away, clearly at odds with himself.
In Chapter 62 the words “We are just two naked bodies…” is said for the first time out loud but this concerns me alot. At the time Seungho says this, his eyes are wide and terrifying and there are bags underneath his eyes indicating that he has not slept and isn’t well. When he’s like this he tends to be in a more manic state and his actions are much more extreme. These words are now being projected outside of himself seemingly being projected onto Nakyum as his answer to Seungho’s question back in Chapter 49 was with his body.
To be honest I think Seungho suffers from a form of DID or manic depression as a result of his father’s psychological and/or physical abuse. That’s just my theory for Seungho. I don’t have enough example to fully support it yet.
But you’re right, we’re both entitled to our opinions, but it’s all up to author-nim. They may choose to elaborate or make us suffer even more by not, lol! ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
"roll up sleeves" lmao you're cute. Ok so as what u said, if Seungho has DID then the "you were right" thing was actually towards himself? Even tho I'm very much entitled to my opinion I still can't deny that yours is a new perspective that I've never thought of. I know Seungho has manic moments but I always assumed that he's just good at putting his guard up. Yes he may have clear signs of traumas but the thought that he has serious mental disorders never crossed my mind once. Like, I don't think the author was trying to make it that complicated at all because she seems to specialise more in story-telling techniques than portraying really hard-core psychological stuff as Koogi did in Killing stalking. Wait so question guys - the "we're just two naked bodies" thing - did Nakyum say that out loud before? I thought it was a thought bubble
