She's not the only one. Some if not many authors (even those very talentuous) also have this syndrome in the yaoi domain. After, I don't know what about the shojo genre (since I don't read shojos)... But in the Shonen and Seinen genres, there is not so much of this problem because the authors draw the characters with very specifi features and designs (whatch for ex. Eyeshield 21 or Slam Dunk...).
I think yaoi authors can struggle with that aspect because they like beautiful and handsome, pretty features, faces, to be displayed in yaoi, and also because the genre (yaoi) asks for it. So then they end up drawing pretty much the sames features inconsciously lol. The yaoi genre is a genre that involves beauty, glam and pretty people after all. I think authors can overcome that issue if they're not afraid to draw very different features-designs, but more efforts need to be put in the chara-design. Though they have their standards and maybe they don't like faces that they won't find attractive or too different from their "standars of beauty".
"Same face" is not dramatic, the only hardship is sometimes for the readers to discern who is who :D Thanks to the hairstyle and colors of hair ^^'
Is it just me or are all of minase masara's uke's the same person? just sayin... just sayin... same faces, similar hair.... I like it though the plots are always keep me coming back for more.
