The emperor is shit & having a sad bg story/trauma doesnt make him any less of one. It makes him pitiful yes but he isnt really sorry unless he's actually doing something about it.

Yes!! He is the cause of her acting like that. I mean right after the trial, she hangs on him and he remains silent about what happened. He looks a little put out but where are the reprimands or questions? If he truly believed Patrizia was lying, he wouldn’t have looked so downtrodden in front of his mistress. He also would have let Patrizia know that he doesn’t believe her. Of course the mistress thinks everything is fine and dandy but she’s also smart and noticed him being a little cold. So of course she would continue to scheme. This guy is not doing anything to stop this drama. I hate how this story is trying to twist Lucio into this reluctant and helpless villain/antihero. If he’s so weak, then he’s just as incapable to be emperor as his mistress an empress. Now we get to the part to make him look more pitiful and I couldn’t care less. He’s weak willed as hell and I was lolling at Patrizia’s thoughts about him sobbing and screaming on the floor like a fool. „I just want to go to bed“ (￣ε(#￣)Σ had me cracking up. I hope she won’t buy his bs. She after all remembers the original timeline. She knows her sister. She knows that he killed their whole family to make his whore empress. Him sobbing around would make me despise him even more after knowing what he did. At least make him a real villain, not this simpering fool who doesn’t know who or what he is. He goes along with whatever impresses him in the women around him like a leaf in the wind at a moments notice. In his mistress case it’s her taking care of his ass during his trauma and her skills in bed. Now he’s falling for Patrizia for reluctantly having to hold his hand during his breakdown, and her saving his ass. If he was at least steadfast in his emotions and opinions. But he’s doing nothing about anything while Patrizia is trying to stay alive and on top. He is the cause of everything that’s happening and his mistress is just a symptom. The mistress acting above her station is because Lucio is scheming to make her his empress. She knows this. They talked about this behind the scenes. I don’t understand why she tried to kill the empress without telling Lucio. He wants to be rid of her as well. Why would she act alone? Also.....spoiler......I Heard- after she lost her baroness title that the mistress is made into an official mistress of some kind. That wouldn’t happen if Lucio didn’t want it to happen. So everything that happened until now didn’t change anything for him. Which is fine, I just hate how undecided he is about it all. Just so the story can twist him into a proper love interest for Patrizia. Doesn’t work for me as she is boss!

Honestly lucio is pathetic trash, he does absolutely nothing but back up the mistress and when they finally "break up " he still does nothing! The empress literally has to everything herself
Im a Little annoyed in seeing so many people trash the mistress but giving Lucio a pass. They both deserve each other. The mistress does what many people in her situation do. They grab for anything they can reach because without it they are powerless. Don’t get me wrong she’s a major c**t, behaves like an ill mannered child and has no business wanting to be the future empress, as she’s utterly unfit in regards to her personality. But people seem to forget that Lucio put her into a position to aspire for just that. I heard (spoiler)...............................that Lucio planned to make her his empress and that Patrizia was chosen to be empress because she’s barren, so they can turn this into cause of divorce and put the mistress into the empress seat. That’s not just some scheme by her but a full fledged plan by both her and Lucio, with him as the driving force. I argue that she would have never acted this self important and like she’s untouchable if Lucio didn’t make it clear that she could act this way without repercussions. All this „she manipulated him because she was there for him during his trauma“, takes his self agency away, like he is a lost little baby. They are both of the same caliber imo. Now he starts to feel bad because Patrizia is capable and after talking to her and what they went through together (assassins), he starts to see her as a human not merely a tool to make his mistress the empress. That also reminds me of the original timeline. I can’t imagine that Patrizia‘s sister was any less kind and capable. Yet she and her whole family were executed. And in no way do I believe it was all the mistress fault. Lucio wanted her to be his empress and got Patrizia‘s sister out of the way because he wanted to. I don’t believe he thought she really committed treason. Not just that he also knowingly wrongfully executed her whole family. Imo, they are both vile scum. I don’t care that he has a childhood trauma. It’s not an excuse of anything that happened. What I also don’t get.....spoiler.............why wouldn’t he keep his mistress in line after he falls out of love? I thought he cared about her but he lets her fall to ruin. I don’t know the Details but I wouldn’t be surprised if he never openly told her that it’s over. Otherwise she wouldn’t have a reason to further interfere with Patrizia, because it wouldn’t make her empress anymore if Lucio broke it off officially
