Amazing but damn ch 200 kinda hit hard

Maybe I'm reading too much into it but ch.200 really struck me down emotionally ╥﹏╥ If someone is patient enough to read my long text and give me their opinion...

The whole tragic thing is that the story started with Hak and Yona being furious because of what Soowon did (murder of the king, lies about their disappearance/death, making them pass as criminals... I don't remember every detail but we all see what I'm talking about) but NOW Yona kinda got an explanation about the context of how and why it did happen (with the parent's generation ark). It's still not an excuse to forgive Soowon but something to help make sense of this out of nowhere murder from Yona's and Hak's point of view.
HOWEVER, Hak never had this explanation ! He was kinda cast away, asked to keep a low profile and to watch his beloved standing strong but alone in the nasty pool of shark while posing as Soowon's future bride. He's just freakingly mad because everything that had importance was trampled upon by Soowoon : their childhood friendship, his father figure (the king), his then unattainable crush, the kingdom etc...
And now he's facing this motherfucking rival who he wants to kill and beat the shit out of since the beginning of the manga and what does he find ? A feeble, weakened man who's not even the shadow of himself. How can he not be asking himself what the fuck happened and since when was the bastard like this ? Was he lying about his condition since their childhood ? Then what else was a lie ? The friendship, the murder and madness ? It's heartbreaking and literally a second blow for Hak because he realizes he was betrayed at least twice : the king's murder + his then friend suffering shits without considering Hak important enough to tell him and without him knowing anything. I believe, it's infuriating for Hak because he realizes he still cares about Soowon but can't forgive him, and now he'll never be able to beat up/kill the guy to his content because Soowon is already crushed and dying.

Yes the real victim in this whole story is Hak. All he wanted was to protect his precious childhood friend and the girl of his dreams. But instead he was betrayed and dragged from here to there by the princess and Soowon because of their parents past feud and now here they are still making their decisions, moving forward and leaving him always the last person to find out about what’s going on. His character is just an integral part of the story yet seems so insignificant at times.

Exactly ! The comments about Hak are always about how hot/badass/cute he is. And ok yes he is, but he was always so much more than that (づ ̄ ³ ̄)づ I didn't know how to explain it more clearly, and you just put into words how I was feeling about him

I get what you mean. I suppose because it’s Shoujo, so many readers tend to fangirl instead of actually taking a deep look into the story. I feel that we are finally reaching climax so I’m still reading this but gosh I really dislike that minor, annoying characters like that long haired advisor has all the decisions in his hand yet when the moment shit hits the fan, everyone looks at Hak’s direction, waiting for him to shoulder heaven and earth and save the day -,-

He’s like everybody’s hidden trump card, discarded when they feel strong & confident and take him out when their plans get ruined and they need rescue. Even the princess is guilty of this. Yo I can’t wait until he becomes king

well what you saying is make sense, but for me the 3 of them is the victim, soowon is the victim because his father death push his father's follower to put (more like pushing him to) the expectations for soowon to take revenge and the throne like seriously his is still a baby that time like 5/7 y.o|| for yona ofc her saw his father get killed right in front of her eyes, but something is wrong that night (or around that day) more like someone lead her to witness the scenes (maybe soowon followers) to give soowon reason to cast yona, who will most likely protected by , out of the castel, remember what lily's follower says "she didn't believe doing whatever it take to protect her master, will make her happy" (or something lika that) and its strangely make me remember keisuk, and everytime yona accidently meet soowon, he will always looking for hak whose protecting her "where is him, why he didn't there with yona" something like that || for hak is like what you said he always leave behind or more like each one of them leave the other behind with resolved 'this is to protect them'

this is what i think, i don't know whether i am over thinking it or whatsoever ( ̄ε(# ̄)Σ, but ONE THING for sure they need to put away their pride for a while and talk about it... because i think the one who knows the whole story so far is us as the reader, but for them is still in pieces ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

I don’t think she forgave him, but she understands why he did it. Both of their fathers were at fault. As royalty their duties lyes with their people, their #1 priority should be their people. After all her traveling Yona first hand witness the horror & trouble her people face in the hands of her incompetent father. I think this is where she has found the balance b/w that hatred/anger she might have felt. Even before this arc & if I remember correctly she never wanted revenge.

Totally agree with you with Hal. My man over here being pushed to the side but let’s not forget b/c Yona believes it for the best. He must also agree to a certain extent b/c if he truly believe she was in danger you beta believe he’ll drop everything his doing to be by her side. Like now that she was being accused of killing that delegate. I do feel bad for him b/c like you said Yona has gotten an explanation & like I said previously said she never wanted revenge, but Hak is different. He saw the girl he loved become a lifeless doll, saw her in her most desperate moment. That must have been hard alone, but then add to the part where he saw him as a friend too. I think back to the episode where 2 dragons are struggling to hold him back & that strength was all coming from anger. Aches my heart just thinking about it. As a reader we’ve seen him suffer this betrayal & plus the agony of finally there being progress in their relationship for them to arrive in the castle & be separated. Maybe this arc will be Haks development, Hopefully b/c if not I’ll be bothered b/c it’s unfair towards him. They focused on Yona, & we finally got an explanation why the king betrayed them, but now we need to focus on Hak’s anger that’s he’s been holding back for the past 2 arcs

you're absolutlely right and thats why i love this manga its not some flowery shoujo shit but all of the characters are soo fleshed out you can feel them, you can literally understand each and every villian, and even the supporting characters

Indeed the 3 of them are victims and we clearly saw that Yona and Soowon were so, but Hak's pain and sadness was never shown directly. His hatred and thirst for revenge yes, but not that he was a victim too. He's always on the second plan as a supporting character willing to abandon everything for his beloved, or shown as collateral damage but not focused on. That's why I'm also praying for an entire ark about him (his parents, his childhood point of view, his growth as an adult before and after his escape with Yona...).
And absolutely : Yona didn't forgive Soowon but achieved an understanding of the palace's conflicts and how Soowon came to murder his dad. It is refreshing to have a smart and powerful girl that wasn't just cheesy all along or badass from the start. We really got to see her grow and mature as she realized her father wasn't perfect (far from it) and as she was searching for answers without seeking revenge at all costs.
