ME TOO it's so rare to see a character who actually sees their partner having other people they care about as a good thing instead of something to get jealous over (even if it was in this case)

Well personally I’m not very found of slapping people, even when mad, I really hate that and think that words can cut better than knife sometimes. I really despise physical violence. But sure it’s a bit upsetting he got off so easy but at the same time it’s probably better she never got to know that he cheated (tho maybe she has doubt) and can move on easily continuing her own life and slowly forgetting all about that one dude she dated once in high school.
IKR? Plus usually the girlfriend character is such a bitch but that one, such a sweetheart! I really wish we had more positive character like that in yaoi (like please give me also more boyfriends when one doesn’t get upset for the other having a best friend or girl friends there’s also close to please please please)
Nah haha don’t worry, it’s good if you had the need to rant and it made you feel a little better I honestly don’t mind. Here is a place as good as any other.
Regarding violence, I think it’s absolutely right to learn how to defend oneself and especially if you’re a woman, I think it regally help feel a bit more at ease to know we can defend ourselves and I would never judge anyone to use violence in case of self-defence (as I myself did in the past).
However coming from also a somewhat dysfunctional family myself (but for different reasons), one where arguing usually came with slap and sometimes fists, I can absolutely tell you two things: 1) slapping hurts even when it’s a woman doing it and when you’re angry you don’t control your strength. 2) Honestly violence in arguing is never good it only make things worst and eventually if it happen regularly can bring ptsd and other issue to the person on the receiving end. In any case, if you’re angry at a person who deserves it, there’s literally 10000 other ways to destroy them than a slap and it can be much more efficient and a just return of karma.
Also I’m really sorry about your family situation, I’m also astonished of the number of people I know that have a similar situation, there’s really something wrong with some men. And taking that into account I understand where you’re coming from.
However that’s a different case ‘cause your dad (and a lot of man) seems like serial cheater while in the case of the manga the cheating happened because of love (and absence of it for the gf) in one exceptional case and won’t happen again. Tho it is still despicable and I’m not excusing it at all, personally if I had a boyfriend I dumped and a few days/weeks later I see him with someone else I would be fine with the situation staying like that as I would be already over it rather than learning later on by someone that my ex actually cheated on me with that person when we were together, which is quite upsetting to learn (tho I would probably wonder about that seeing how quick he would get over the break up but that’s that)
However if I was in a serious relationship with someone cheating on me yes in that case I would want to know and probably destroy them afterwards (tho it would probably destroy me too)
But anyway no worries at all, I’m really sorry for your family situation and I hope all the best for you in the future and for your situation to get better!
