I don't think that's it for me at all- maybe in black and white mangas the mangaka just wanted to distinguish people?

tbh same for me i dont see their appeal at all :/ ...but i dont think its a coloring manga thing cuz then why arent there light haired ukes instead of black haired ones if its just to tell apart?

i don’t really care about hair really- as long as i can tell the seme & uke apart, and the couple isn’t toxic, i really don’t care if they have light or dark coloured hair-

there are a lot light color ones though- maybe the recent ones you have been reading are mostly black- haired? I went through a couple of my yaoi lists and the hair ranges from blonde, brunette to black with a couple colorful ones in there too.
I will say this- since so many mangas are asian based- black is actually norm for real people. But mangakas try to make it more..exotic really. There should be more black and less.. blue.

ofc hair color doesnt matter as long as the story is good even tho ppl have their own preferences that still doesnt change the fact ab them being popular lol again no big deal this was just me being curious

oh rly?? whenever i go through lists theres like example: 7 mangas in a row w black haired ukes and only one or two w light haired ones and the cycle continues
