Well if he really remember their past life like in the side stories, then I can see how that might have made him more obsessed and overprotective over hosik. Lol who knows? Well yeah, but i guess he got some trauma or something from hosik’s death before and so now he’s more obsessed and making sure that they end up together no matter what. It also makes a difference because in their past life, they grew up together and spent a lot of time together, in this life they met at a much later time so I guess he wants to hurry up and make up for the time he could’ve been with hosik
