SPOILERS here & there
Novel is less angsty & more fast-paced. It is also more focused on Athy & her interactions with a lot of characters. Jeannette was not in the spotlight like here in the manhwa.
Here's how the novel went:
Let's backtrack to the incident where Claude just lost his memories & Athy was in hiding. Claude, even when he doesn't remember Athy, had this indescribable feeling to get Athy by his side that's why he devised a plan to capture Athy. He begged Athy to stay, & Athy did. Claude had actually put effort to bond with Athy despite his amnesia. They had tea sessions, stroll here & riding boats in the lake & whatnot. His life wasn't actually in danger.
He had his memories back on Athy's 15th bday, where Lucas came back & wacked the branch of that powerful tree on Claude's head. He lost conciousness & when he woke up, he uttered Athy's name first thing in the morning, bad breath & all. Hallelujah the drama was solved just like that. And yeah, it was way sweeter in the novel.
In place of the supposed villain Anastacius here in the manhwa is Carax. In the novel, Carax is a nobody but he was being posessed by Aeternitas - an Obelian king whom Lucas refused to guide 200 years ago. I think Anastacius in the manhwa is being posessed by the same antagonist.
And unlike here in the manhwa, Carax's arc was short & was pretty insignificant, really just something to move the plot. Carax (Aeternitas) wanted to have his little revenge on Lucas for snubbing him years ago but he was too weak & was dependent on black magic to stay alive. Lucas didn't even break a sweat in dealing with him.
After those events, the novel focused on Athy's magic training & there was this another young male character who appearead. Forgot his name lol, but he was Ezekiel's classmate back in Atlanta and got infatuated with Athy on first sight. Didn't last long tho, cause he moved his affections to Jeannette shortly afterwards.
Shoot some questions if you're confused, I've read this ages ago & my storytelling might be a little off. And I got more spoilers, just don't know if you're down aha
