EXACTLY!!! And even adults struggle after years of abuse and need tons of time, therapy, and support. These kids went through all that and got thrown into a new life with new people they barely know and heard their last remaining parent say that he would've killed them a long time ago if his life hadn't been threatened. Like how could they open up after that?
I feel like some of y’all are just not understanding how much abusive situations can really mess you up mentally, they died when they were teenagers- not when they were 25, they just added their mental ages together. Of course they aren’t going to trust the royal family? They were abused severely by their mother (and servants) who continuously put into their head that they were abandoned and hated. Yes it’s frustrating in a sense (especially for their guardian) but the way some of y’all expect them to just accept that explanation their brother gave them and move on is just so unrealistic- they have so much trauma to sort through, have a lot of trust issues too. While I understand the frustration at it being dragged on, have some understanding towards their recovery at the very least.
