OH SHIT I JUST REMEMBERED SOMETHING. claude killed and dethroned anastacius not just because he took Penelope and basically everything away, but also because ANASTACIUS KILLED CLAUDE'S MOTHER. but anastacius didn't??? he just let her die on her deathbed. someone probably saw him walking out the room and saw claude's mother dead.

also the reason why that was not diana is because claude met diana on his birthday some time after he became emperor. which means anastacius was dead by then.
