Or maybe I am biased because I go to uni in China and have lived in a 4 ppl dorm like that before and it would absolutely terrorize me to come out to my roommates like that. Not to mention, they would find this extremely weird even if they are openminded and accepting. It is sorta OK to come out to classmates, but for the roommates, I think the rule of thumb is "don't ask, don't tell" ╮(￣▽￣)╭

I am happy for Yu Yang but I feel like this kind of happy flashbacks take away from his story and does not add to it. I think him being an out and proud gay was already very well told at the beginning of the manhua a long time ago. It is indeed a lift-me-up and I do wish more people were accepting like that and I wish coming out to your roommates was that easy. I was happy to read about YY and LH coming out to their parents and being accepted by them, I think that was important for the storyline.
Anyway, I know it is just a manhua but I have felt like it has done such a good job with realistic representation overall. But sometimes less is more. I just felt as if this chapter was not that necessary...
I actually feel the same way about the side story with the musician friend, I feel like it does not add to the story at all.
