I agree with this but this is why she's hated so much she's naïve and creates unwanted problems for Athy. Also

I've heard that she's actually not Claude's daughter and that her eyes are a curse put on her and that's she's much darker and evil than what we see in the manwha (I'm not sure about this info so take it with a grain of salt)

I totally agree, I don't hate Jeanette, she's just "Athy" in this story. It's true I don't like her, but that's probably because many of us readers would ARE her in this case. Trying to find our way in our homes, in the world, and trying to be loved without be given anything in return. That's all Jeanette want's in this manwha. There's a saying that "what you hate is what you see in yourself" this obviously doesn't apply to all cases but in this case it does. People hate Jeanette because they relate to her the most, none of us remember our "past lives" we're all starting from scratch without knowing the plot to our own story. Athy knows Jeanette's plot, and in a case is changing the story for her benefit. If I were to weigh who I liked better, I'd say Lucas because both girls stories revolve around the other's pain. Which is usually how a story like this would go, in the end I do really hope that Jeanette is able to really feel at home with Athy and her dad. I also hope that she finds out that she isn't the daughter of the current emperor because its taxing on everyone, especially her. Then maybe it will be easier for her to find love in being Athy's cousin.

i said i wouldn't reply but i just couldn't control myself, this was so ridiculous. so you hate her for something that might not even happen? or you hate her for things that haven't even happened? jeez. she's not claude's daughter, you're correct though.
we've already seen she has no ill intentions, so you're just blaming her for wanting love and her parentage? and her eyes? and athy in the OG Lovely Princess was just as naive - even our current athy describes her like this- would you guys hate her just as much? bash her for wanting love, like jeanette?
you guys honestly only can see the other side of view when the author fucking writes it out for you. or you can, and just don't feel sympathy.
on a different forum, a user said:
"I don't get ppls joy in seeing Jeanette be treated like this. Athy is basically just in her place. This story is just filled with emotionally stupid people. This only one girl can be happy at a time plot has really ruined this story.
Fighting over a damn guy who killed his daughter. I can already see they push and push Jeanette into despair so that if she explodes then everybody will feel justified in calling this child a bitch all last season. And if you have a novel of reply you're wasting your breath. I'm not interested in a debate about this. It's just how i feel."
and i fucking wholeheartedly agree.
really, in this story there can only be one Lovely Princess. the mc. which is Athy, at this time. everyone hates jeanette, and will push her to the breaking limit. when she breaks and finally reaches her limit, everyone will soon with feel justified for hating her and calling her horrible things. this is exactly what happened in the original novel "the Lovely Princess." A naive girl yearned for love from Claude, but never got it.
that is the plot.
simple enough. two girls.
A naive girl yearned for love from Claude, but never got it. instead, the other did.
our athy deserves happiness, yes. because she was hurt in her last life.
but does jeanette deserve the same fate as the previous athy? both girls did nothing wrong idk why you all are condemning them to a horrible fate
why i don't hate jeanette:
don't waste your time with a reply, i won't grace you with another one. this is just my opinion, you can take it or not idc. i'm just fed up of seeing so much hate for a fourteen year old year who's never meant to do harm. ever.
A reason I've seen people say that they hate Jennette for is she's "trying to take Athy's place." But like, in my eyes she's just an innocuous, naïve girl who really really wants a family. She has never meant to take Athy's place. More than once she's wished and monologued that she wants to be a family with Claude and Athy together.
All her life she's been used. Her mother gave birth to her only (with black magic) because she wanted to give shit to Claude and cheated on him. She was adopted into the Alpheus residence from a young age, but only because Mr. Whitey was planning on using her to raise his ranks and get in favor with Athy/Claude. She's even mentioned how she always felt like an outsider in the Alpheus residence. Even Ijikiel now pays more attention to Athy (and we know now since he's fallen for Athy that he won't be marrying Jennette like the original story) and she is truly, truly alone. Claude thinks of Jennette like a stress reliever, only there to help soothe the pain. But of course, Jennette takes it all because she wants to be loved and wants a family more than anything.
Funny now, that the roles seem to have been switched, huh? Jennette was loved and cherished in her previous life (and Athy was the one left out)- and now in this timeline Athy is the lovely princess, while Jennette has become the unlovable princess. Athy used to be naive and craved love (how Athy describes her from The Lovely Princess), just how Jennette does now.
And you guys still think Jennette deserves to be hated. I bet if Jennette was the protag and we were all reading "The Lovely Princess" instead of "WMMAP", everyone would be bashing Athy for the same things. "Being clingy." "Being annoying." "Getting in the way of the perfect father/daughter relationship."
All that's different is that Athy reincarnated. Can i remind you all that she is not a young, naive teenager like Jennette is, she has many years from her past like on her as well. Athy KNOWS the plot. She knows the setting. She basically knows who is good, who is bad; who to get on her side and who not to trust (well not all characters, obviously). She knows the story of Lovely Princess and Jennette doesn't, so obviously she's going to be quicker and smarter.
Also can I just mention that Jennette has never meant to do harm, ever. She loves Claude and Athy so much (as shown in the manwha) but apparently that wasn't good enough, either for the audience. Then she was being clingy and annoying. Like, when she shows her love and appreciation everyone says she's annoying, but when she doesn't (and brings her past life back), everyone also blames her for it.
All because she was a naive girl who wanted love.
where's that hate for claude, like ???? he's the hot blonde daddy and somehow that excuses everything.
