I was also waiting for the moment they would meet, but it is in the tragedy category afterall; after everything that happened wenxu really lost it...the book is so hard to read but also fulfilling since you get to see how everything played out after Zhishu s death, i recommend reading the wenxu extra chapter at least if you cant bear to read the whole book
Oh I have read the novel. It was so hard to bear. I cried alot. The extra chapters truly gave alot of pain. I rly like the secretary Song chapter in the extras. It lets me know the perspective of a third person on their relationship.

Secretary song was with them since the company first started. At first,he didn't know they were a gay couple but he found out when he saw them kissing secretly at the company with the door slightly opened. He didn't get weird out or disgusted cus they both seemed like they were good people and hard working.
He could see how much WenXu loved Zhishu cus he looked at him with such loving eyes.
Even since the past, WenXu had a bit of a temper except to Zhishu. So whenever Secretary song was scolded, he would go and hide in Zhishu's office room. He said He thought WenXu would nvr stopped loving Zhishu.He used to think Even when everyone changes, WenXu was the only one that wouldn't change.Secretary said Zhishu was smart,confident and really good at his job. Secretary Song was so surprised and felt bad cus he felt like all of Zhishu's potential are wasted. And then after the 10 year mark of their relationship, he noticed WenXu changed.
He started seeing all girls and guys that jumped onto him but WenXu would dump them once he gets a phone call from Zhishu but later he also lost his gulity conscience and fooled around more.And Secretary song also witnessed the whole process of WenXu's guilt swallowing him after Zhishu's death.

But it gave me more of impression of him dying four years later due to his heart condition rather than the $**cide.And in the secretary chapter, the secretary thought that WenXu wouldn't khs(yk) cus he was busy convincing himself to believe that Zhishu hasn't died and keep on waiting for him to return home.
Idk wht u mean exactly but there was also a extra chapter about the relationship of the president( that took the bone marrow away from doctor ai that he prepared for Zhishu) and his lover. It was rly wholesome and sad.

He said that after gving up waiting for him, on his last trip to russia if i remember correctly...thats kinda why i tought about it like that....last trip...giving up waiting for him and saying that he (wenxu) will find him and he will walk by his side forever. Plus it was like he wanted to be on the same page with zhishu before "meeting" him (waiting four years like zhishu did and then dying) and idk if i want this to be the ending or not honestly

Ppl rly don't tend to see the depth of the story. it isn't abt the doctor saving Zhishu from the misery or finding true love after leaving from a abusive relatiomship. Whtever Zhishu have for doctor Ai wasn't love. He needed someone to rely on and yearn for empathy and the doctor gave him that. The one he was in love with till the end was WenXu. WenXu also loved him. Yea he's a asshole for the last 3 years or sth. But come on they were together for 10 years go through hard shit together because they were madly in love with each other. I always imagine how would the story turn out if WenXu found out Zhishu has leukemia before he ran away from him. I rly wished they would resolve things and talk for at least one last time. But the doctor was rly putting up a barrier between the two.
