From the way they were talking they knew she attempted to kill herself multiple times and did care enough to go and even talk to her they may have not known about the bullying from the maids specifically but they knew about it and thats foul

Please, they knew she tried to kill herself and STILL didn't do anything. It wasn't until the main character brought her abuse to light did anyone bother conducting any kind of investigation because they thought she was useless--the grandpa called her useless on multiple occasions. And don't pin their ignorance on the "past", this is a different world with advanced knowledge (it's literally canon). I don't know what "period" you're referring to, but mental health has been a known thing in multiple cultures for thousands of years??
