I don't know who needs to hear this but mentally ill people mostly wants to be left alone ...

I hear you ( though I can't help but think of school shooters) but in this situation I think he just tried to OD so...definitely shouldn't have been left alone

They treat mental illness as if one has controls to have it.

are you saying mentally ill people can never function normally in their life because they have "no control" over it? lol you must never meet any irl people with actual mental illness because that is not the reality.

I did not said they can't function normally. But if they've been on stressful situations and they do not know how to cope with it, mental illness is inevitable.
