it’s just a shortened version of the name, like “ 싸움독학” is the Korean name but “ 쌈독” is a short version of it. Ssamdog would be the pronunciation of it, so it’s literally just “self studying how to fight” that’s what a friend told me
I don’t think ssamdog has a derived meaning but rather it’s more of like a nickname? because of the YouTube channel name that Hoobin has , lol I hope it helped
If u look at the pronunciation of 싸움독학 it’s “ssaumdokak” which is probably where the whole “ssamdog” comes from, kind of like how “oppa, hyung, sunbae, noona” became English words for manhwas
