I really hope it doesnt follow the route of Jay being similar to blonde/gold hair dude and getting as good as that dude, reaching the same legacy as that dude, and eventually leading Jay to defeating Yu and letting Yu see the "light". Meanwhile White hair is on sideline, affecting the impact of "light/life" for Yu (their contrast: dead vs living) and a sense of "motivation"/impact on Jay's boxing experience and techniques.
