I know I shouldn’t complain because well, it’s free lol and they’re doing it for us but if the scans group are taking so long to upload the chapters, why didn’t they just let someone else take over? ╥﹏╥

Scan groups tend to be prideful, they wont upload chapters yet they still wont let anyone upload any of their projects ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

It’s like they are the gatekeepers of these stories. I agree with you, TeeHee02, if scan groups take a very long time to upload new chapters, someone should take over if they want to.

Disagree. There’s a term for that called sniping. It’s common courtesy to ask for permission to start scanslating a manwha that another group is working on from the group itself. An example of sniping going wrong, which it is always wrong, is s2manga, they are notorious for sniping manwha and giving shitty translation, and on top of that, horrible formatting... they once sniped “The Contract Princess and The Monster Duchess” and it was so bad that mangago took down the chapters that s2manga had translated. You never know if the scans groups working on a certain manwha are preparing a bulk upload, or having difficulties within the group, so you should always ask permission before taking on a manwha that another group is already scanslating.

Yo u do realize that scanlation groups r doing something illegal right so it literally doesn't matter who's doing it bc it's ILLEGAL and whoever is doing it faster is better and obviously if everyone who is reading some manhua and they ALL hate it then that is telling the scanlation group that they should stop yk

And so? It’s still a common courtesy. ^^

Thanks for giving your inputs. I must say that I did not take account about bad translations - I guess I have been too spoiled with the good ones.

Also with mangago taking down chapters,I'm pretty sure it was just ppl reporting all the chapters and that only proves that their translation was bad so at least they took it down

No no,I don't think u understood me,I meant that it doesn't matter bc they could have not posted anything after 3 months and before u say "they could end up giving u mountain of new episodes to read" as u know already that is almost never the case and as I said before it's illegal so it literally doesn't matter and yes they could be wasting their time on a new chapter but they should already be prepared for someone to take up the chance to upload new chapters for ppl who really enjoy the manhua bc they literally take way too long and believe me I have already tried scanlating a manhua before all by myself and it didn't take too long and I even did this while I was really busy with my schoolwork(I did it in the beginning of quarantine) also if ur gonna say that I just did the talk bubbles, no I didn't, I did everything as in cleaning, typing, redrawing and proofreading and it was genuinely fun for me.(I stopped translating tho bc I was too slow and every time I saw that manhua not being updated for months I'd end up trying again but then the scanlation group comes back with one update after months and u see that is the problem with many scanlation groups)don't know if my point was able to get through but I hope it did(^∀^)

Back in the old days, lol, anyone work on a managa, and it was the reader who got to decide what translation they liked best to read.

I get the point... Yes, it's courtesy to ask a group if they have dropped or not the series, but it's still an illegal translation, A FAN translation, more groups translating the same story, to me means that it's a story worth the hard work that there's behind a translation. If the first group doesn't upload after two or three months, when the series is not on hiatus, shouldn't get angry about it... Instead they should think about helping each other and work together on the translation, instead asking the second group to drop the serie... I think it's ruder asking to drop the translation to someone who's doing a good work. That's simply pride "I want to do it all by myself".
Collaboration is really the easiest and smartest thing to do

Ahh I see. I guess in that case, they should leave a note that they’re preparing a mass release of the chapters. This would stop other scans from taking over and the readers would be at ease knowing that they didn’t drop it and they will be uploading a bunch of chapters later on. Ofc you should always ask permission!^^ But honestly just leaving it how it is without context for the readers would cause confusion lol ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
