hahahah! so rap-excuse me, I meant forced consensual sex (some fangirl called it that and I use it now lol) is for the underage along with people becoming gay out of nowhere, and dem adults just go for the more sane plots? hahahah. they really know the way to education. Not that I should complain, since I read those too from time to time... *walks away slowly*
I feel like a weirdo for dragging this for this long, but hey! (please! insert argument here). My first yaoi was actually Kyuuso ha cheese no yume o miru, so it set the bar pretty high for me. In all honesty I got pissed off at those types because I felt like I graduated from shoujo smut for nothing! Yeah, I was one of THOSE people. (aka preachers) I just - finally - learned not to care about the ones that didn't take themselves seriously, like most of the rapey rapey dreamy dreamy ones do. In case they do, *cough* like Minase Masara's *cough* I just avoid them. I mean, (once again) wth? How come people actually read those things (like the mangaka, assistants, editors, publishers etc) and think: Yes! This is a good idea! Let's publish this! It's toats good brain food for dem teenage girls! Hahahah!
Sorry for rambling like crazy! I'm sleep deprived!
Agreed. A 100%. I don't know whether yaoi is meant for 18+ audiences, but from what I've figured high schoolers really dig them back in Japan, no?
I think that relationships have to do with respect, so I'll state the opposite and state that rapey situations are the opposite. It's off-putting, you can't take it seriously. It's a matter of how much you want what you read to have a connection to reality, really, aka how much it takes itself seriously. I don't wanna freak you out (too late) but I sorta kinda have what people call a rape fetish. kind'a. irl vanilla wont do it for me about 75% of the time. It's the same with yaoi. If I don't feel there's a connection and feel happy for the pair, then I probably read only to go "oh how cute". If I want to get into it, then it wont do, I need the rapey rapey sht TT__TT. However I have higher standards! If it's nonsensical (like: oh he raped me but then he was nice and he's hot so hearts and rainbows yay) I almost feel offended lol, so it's a double edged sword.
Why did we end up talking about rapey-ish yaoi from straight yaoi characters?
I love Miyamoto Kano too! Sometimes her characters look a bit too emo, but I really love them. I've read most of Hydra (I think it somehow depressed me at some point hahah) but my favourite from her is probably one called "Please come inside", or smth. If it's not on the list it should totally go btw. I also really like Suzuki Tsuta's bi and ex-straight bullshit, or Hideyoshico's. My favorite (yaoi) mangaka is Nakamura Asumiko, I love her fucked up-ness, but when it's too heavy for the heart, I go straight to her happy stuff, hahah. And the art is to die for, imo. The best manga illustrations I have ever seen. Ever.
This is it: http://www.mangago.zone/read-manga/please/
more than anything, you should prep yourself for that one lolicon rape scene from 2 Shuukan no Adventure. I'm positive I was traumatized. Horribleness level: 4chan. But the rest of the stories in that one are good, so... I don't really remember that many straight sex scenes, apart from one that is (the lolicon does not count OK?)
And let's pray that last one happens so that we shall hear the confused cries of despair of all those manly men who got a boner from it and will never admit it. :D
Omg!! Hahahah, I would so watch that lol. Oh my, this is the greatest idea I have heard this year! Someone should really make this happen. Like right now. Let's contact people. At this point I'm not even kidding. I promise, you and your bf will get the credit you deserve!!!

Still laughing at the notion. lol.
I'm all up for them, too, although it would be nice if you could take it back if you pressed the wrong one by mistake, lol. I've seen too many people apologise after pressing annoying by mistake :D Btw, I don't really mind this back and forth conversation, I rather like it, but I think it would be better if we could press stop here and continue being awesome and awkward by communicating through something else, for if not I foresee running out of topics only after covering your whole comments section, hahahah. Of course, only if you also want to, it wont be rude to say no lol. I just feel like people will go on the list and be like: O____O "should we comment or do we end up like this, too?" (this is my inner guilt complex speaking) This suggestion will now be up for negotiation.
*start*
Just dropped by to say your list has been my bible in the last few weeks and that I'm glad I'm not the only one searching desperately for "actual gay dudes" in the BL genre. I mean, wth?
