The surprise that Bum had for Sangwoo was the ring, in the final episode Bum is looking all over for Sangwoo to give him the ring and leave. While his ashes spread on the ground you can see Bum holding the ring in his hands.
I know that but there's questions that weren't answered, not to mention so many characters didn't find out the truth

Yoon and Sangwoo had so much built up and then Sangwoo never revealed his past to Yoon, Yoon never showed us what the surprise was, Sangwoo never found out Yoon wasn't trying to poison him, Sangwoo died thinking that nobody trusted him. I just feel that after the Christmas dinner and Sangwoo calling Yoon mom that he would've opened up,Yoon would understand, Sangwoo could finally move out and move on (hopefully burning the house down) then I wouldn't have mind them dying together at the end.
