It could either be that he goes back to being a rock after the wish is fulfilled (in the case of the mother, she wanted to die). Or until the person who summoned him dies.

So since he wishes to kiss him once more, does that mean that, to keep him around, he should not kiss him yet? Or does that mean he can make unlimited wishes as long as it doesn't cost his life?
