Well he does have a right to be on edge. Plus you shouldn't expect anything much from him with his tragic childhood. He doesn't really know right from wrong and he is someone who feels entitled because that's exactly what he is. Even the Royal family can't touch him easily. He's been starved from love and the one person who showed him any love is trying to distance herself from him AFTER SHE melted his heart and gave him hopes. I can totally understand and pity him. But gah I know how you feel. I'm lonely too cause I have no one to agree with or disagree with concerning mangas. I'm super glad when I have people like you to discuss stuff with.
Yeah I’m not much of a fan of his attitude either, I peaked in on the Rae’s and the way he handles her is a big flag. She’s made it clear from day one that’s she averse to this entire relationship and I understand he’s upset about his first time but damn calm down.
The real loss for me is that he can’t be called out on his behavior. I hope eventually she’ll voice her discomfort to him but ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍ with stories like these I doubt it. He’ll be forgiven since she loves him. blah.
Gah but but she said it herself that he prefers people being straight up with him so why didn't she just tell him how she feels plus we both know he wouldn't do her anything. He literally wants to bind her to him so he's making empty threats. If he was really such a brute I honestly think he would have harmed her a long time ago and not make empty threats. Sorry I'm just a sucker for people with horrible backgrounds.
I feel like her actions have thoroughly conveyed her discomfort. And on the note of her speaking out I don’t mean to say she’s without fault in the present situation but I’m kinda over the whole ‘excusing a characters shitty behavior just because they have a bad past’. Like you can have a decent male lead that aren’t total push overs without the need to excuse every wrong action with the fact that they didn’t get enough time with mommy growing up. These authors man, it’s like the word atonement isn’t in there dictionary.
I never spoke on his empty threats I’m speaking on the times that he has physically grabbed her or verbally dismissed her words. While I suspect he’s not about to suddenly lock her in a cage lol she doesn’t.
This is just supposed to be a light hearted manga so in the long run I don’t see it as being actual abuse because in terms of Yandere the guy isn’t much of one. Those are my thoughts though.
I flipped through the raws long time ago so I can’t remember clearly...
pretty sure when the ML did that yelling because of that lie....
MC not just simply apologise, but kinda flip up at him too...
Kinda like yeah, it’s my fault for lying but if I don’t do this how else I’m gonna get it through your thick skull about what I don’t want to do...
Or something like that...(?) can’t remember....
She's only discomfortabke with the situation BECAUSE she thinks she's messing up the story line though, which is another issue that needs discussing. Like honestly I get it you died and then boom you're in your favorite novel or game but come on this is no longer a novel or game. This is YOUR REALITY now and these are REAL PEOPLE with REAL feelings. I understand that you're scared but the fact that you're present and you've already made some changes should mean something to you. You should realise that it won't go the same way and the fact that he is showing interest in you and not the books female lead should let you know that it's okay for you to go ahead and give in to your feelings. If she was 100% AGAINST BECAUSE SHE DISLIKED HIM then yeah I would totally agree with you but the fact that she's only like that because she still sees them as mere characters in a book is a meh to me. Plus I too would be seriously mad if the person I love and care about would do something as ridiculous as trying to harm their selves. If you truly want to know a person or who a person is deep down to their core get them mad or get the drunk... Their true colors will show then and her true colors is her being in love with him and we've been seeing it every so often how she tends to correct herself like oh don't fall for him or oh steady my poor heart.
I think I would have to actually read the chapter that you are talking about to maybe see where you are coming from.
I agree her nerves are coming from the fear of messing up the story line which I feel is an understandable reason for her actions. Yes this is her reality, but she was still hoping that once everything ended, she could go back home. So I stand behind her trying to fight back the duke for those reasons.
I think she does realize things aren't going to go the same way, she's comparable to prey trapped in a corner and this is just her last-ditch effort to try and survive. Therefore I'm not surprised she does drastic things like try to hurt herself, which again is not okay, though I understand it. Her characters obviously conflicted on what to do with her budding feelings while at the same time she knows this isn’t how things are supposed to go and she’s fearful of the consequences. It doesn’t come down to does she 100% hate or love him. Its more 'He’s hot, I think I like him, but this isn’t the way things are supposed to be and I’ve messed everything up. How do I get out of this?’ A 50/50 scenario if you will.
With stories like these I’m not sure what my take is when looking at the characters as real or a mere story. Sure it’s her reality but at the same time it is a game/book. Obviously, the pre-decided storyline is important, and you can’t acknowledge that without realizing these are all fictional characters with certain set actions and personality. I’ll just say it depends on the circumstances of the stories, for this one specifically she’s probably fine as it’s only the beginning.
I see your point with him being upset while at the same time she doesn’t owe him anything. Realistically speaking she was drunk when they had their first night together hence, she was not able to consent to anything least of all marriage. Like I said earlier, I don’t think he’s a horrible character, just maybe not the most enjoyable in certain moments and I don’t want to be the person to deny questionable actions with poor excuses just because it’s a love story. My bad I know I’m being nitpicky, it’s just when it comes to topics of boundaries and mutual agreements/consent I’d really like to see more of it in stories like these. Though again this is a lighthearted read.
Not sure, I think you’ve seen my point well and been respectful while disagreeing so honestly no complaints. I like your take on things and while I don’t agree with everything the conversations been fun.
No no it's okay if we don't talk it out then we can't understand each other. Communication is key which literally all these damn stories lack lol.
But as you were saying true I can understand why she would be conflict had it been me I would have definitely handled the situation differently by going with the flow. I think I would take the time out to get to know him and see where the relationship would go or not go. I would have straight up told him yes we both took each others first but guess what that's rape because I was drunk and didn't really know what I was doing while you weren't so how about we try dating and see how it goes. Cause if we are being realistic this is rape to some degree if you drink to the point that you can't recall what you've done you can't make heavy decisions like that.
So far honestly speaking he hasn't done anything to make me think eww no. He hasn't stalked her or anything just been really persisting with the marrying her bit which honestly isn't that bad to me since he already done the deed with her. I wish I would be hounded like that for marriage PLUS everytime they meet it has been HER summoning him. She could have easily faded away but SHE constantly summons him. He never just pops up pretty sure he puts his schedule on hold to go meet her. He's a Duke so he doesn't have the time to waste like her.
I just meant I feel as though I've been understood.
Yeah, I've always enjoyed the stories where the characters are more logical and are down to risk talking back/arguing. For me the whole problem felt as if it were easily avoidable in the beginning, but it was funny, so we tend to just go with it. I'm really conflicted with the non-consent in this situation. Morally I don't want to excuse but I feel like in this situation and the current setting it would be hard to take seriously. But yeah seeing as she couldn't remember anything that's certainly questionable.
He's not unpleasant, compared to other male leads his aggressive comes off laughable and it feels like he's just filling in a role a lot of time. Rather than him being yandere he just feels like a guy who doesn't understand love or women.
See it’s the persistent asking for marriage for me that I don't love about him lol.
Being able to read the recent chapters has let me know a little more about how he sees her though so I can’t wait to see when he finds out the truth and know what he says to her.
Spoiler!!!!
I read up to the raws and so far I'm not sure I like him because he gets mad and a bit violent towards her. Because she comes up with this idea to trick the Duke by acting that she fell off a balcony and pretends that she gets injured seriously. The Duke is miserable and stayed by her bedside for days. Then he finds out is all a lie and grabs her arm forcefully, takes off her hat to see her face because she pretends that her face is covered in scars from the fall and starts screaming at her. She starts crying and he says to stop the fake crying and its not going to work. Like man, chill. I know she lied to you but there's no need for this violence. And of course, after all of that she realizes her mistakes and that she's in love with him. Sigh.
Anyway just been wanting to tell somebody about this for awhile since none of my family reads manhwa like me. (๑•ㅂ•)و✧
