A painter behind the curtain is set between late 1700s/early 1800s it's an interesting one but I'm not sure if it fits your discription but you should give it a read if you haven't already !

im looking for a yaoi/bl wich is physological and historical tragedy it dosent need to be all of them but if you could help then thank you :) also i read this amazing one a long while ago called coponicus no kokyuu its very fucked up but by far one of my favourite things ive ever read i really do reccomend it - its set in a circus in paris in 1970s :)
