i get it! fools was the first manhwa i ever read so it holds a special place in my heart. the art style was always so special to me because it was so uniquely fools. there isn’t really anything similar. i really happy to see a remake, to see how things could’ve been different, but it just isn’t the same (although i love it regardless). like you said though, the writing has definitely improved! i think what i’m going to do from now on is look at this version as if it’s its own story, just so that i can judge it w/o bias, which may be hard but i’ll try lol.
i would like to say that in the original they did put a lot of emphasis on eunji’s looks. he was known for being cold, but extremely handsome. i haven’t noticed any difference in that aspect, but obviously we may have different opinions :)
Lo and behold, the deed of the bitch:

this is great but there's also a few things that disappointed me. the art style change is really weird, it seems like they're redesigning it to be more 'main-stream' when fool's unique color style was one of it's most distinct features. plus, making it a emphasized point that eungi was oh-so-handsome comes off as so weird to me. it sort of ruins his more relaxed, down-to-earth vibes and the obvious popularity he has because of his looks feels out of place here w his character's more nonchalant personality.
the writing seems better, though! i just hope it continues this way and they keep the same keep the same pure, wholesome love that the original had. ):
overall, it's fine, but just seems like they're trying too hard to please a certain audience with this remake, when the original was fine and they could've made a NEW STORY. it's like a bad live-action disney adaptation lol. but maybe i'm being too harsh! im excited to see where this goes, and i honestly hope it exceeds my expectations and is even better than the original
