Kenji is abusive and Yoshi is a stalker simp. It is a pretty toxic relationship.

Kenji needs someone to beat his ass & boink him senseless. Yoshi is too nice a guy, stalkerish or not.

I agree. I hate seeing domestic abuse glossed over - like why did he have to punch his face?!

they're not dating so it's technically not domestic abuse. but i'm wondering how it would be if the roles reversed, and it was yoshi who was the abusive one? i feel like fans would riot if that were the case. tbh, i hate this double standard.

Go look at the authored other works they have essentially the same emotional/verbal abuse with her characters Ken and Kirara. You don’t see people caring there, that the seme is initially very abusive but it’s okay “that’s how he shows he cares...” he’s just a angry smol tsun tsun boy. Cue eye roll. His toxicity and angst is used to make him more attractive and sympathetic. There’s always been a double standard for seme and uke roles and what they are allowed and not allowed to do in reader’s eyes. Especially when gender roles are further applied as Kenji is so feminine he carries the same implication of a “bitch” and given BL’s misogyny that correlation makes him unlikable. But had he been a seme, his masculine role would correlate this behavior as just “emotionally stunted”. It’s honestly fucking gross but that’s how this genre operates.

im going to be a nerd (lol) and copy & paste a definition: "it is the domination, coercion, intimidation and victimisation of one person by another by physical, sexual or emotional means within intimate relationships." regardless of whether or not they are official, their relationship is def intimate especially after kissing/fucking.
oh for sure :/ ...or maybe not, some people on this site are really odd.
