unfortunately no, the father gets shittier every time. he was the one that caused the mother to get banished and the two wives to start disputing and still caused the living of his children to get worse and so worse that they had to come back another time and imagine the hypocrisy he has for doing the SPOILERS that im not gonna tell you unless you ask for it.

Basically let's start from the beginning, The father already knew of the conflict between his wives but the thing is.. he knew but didn't want to do anything because he wanted to be 'fair' and so this led to the banishment of the first wife, and the birth of demonic Cosette since first wife made a deal with the devil.
this eventually leads to where we are today, with the FL being thrown away by her father, which was fucking ironic for a man who wanted his whole life to play fair yet doted so much on a child that came from the woman he threw out and one things leads to another and FL is executed.. the kingdom is destroyed by the demon however he and a grand mage tries to go back to the past to save himself.
however spell fails, and FL gets her past memory and the father just well.. has headaches and nightmares he can't even remember so basically he doesn't have an idea but has a feeling but still acts shitty even on the second timeline like just basically not giving a fuck about her till she actually stops giving a fuck about him.
I can't go too indepth but he really gets worse and worse, so I'm glad that the FL decided to runaway with her brother and cut ties with their family.

god knows why, he was a man of 'not taking any sides' like he's ignorant and selfish if that makes sense which caused all of that to transpire into.. a whole mess
