Personally, I love Itadori as MC. I don't think there's anything wrong with a MC, who does not get power ups every time something goes wrong. It just gets boring really fast. He's just so nice, kind and funny. A sunshine really. I don't really feel like he lacks anything and he keeps evolving in a normal pace that does not seem forced. He has potential that makes him get better and better after each battle. Also not every MC needs a super depressing past to be a good MC, that's just stupid as hell. He lost his grandpa and he just wants to save people. Simple as that. It does not have to be more complicated.
