they walked together into the sea while holding hands.as for why..maybe it's because as long as they are alive they'll never be happy together cuz they commited a crime(and the cops will always follow them)

okay I’m totally okay with people spoiling the ending, just please tell what happens and describe the ending. i can handle sad endings but only if i know what i’m getting into lol. i know they both die, but how or why? i’ve heard many good things about this story so please tell me what it’s like!! (try not to be vague pls)
