Mmm,I think what the crown prince thought is what an unmuslim person would think, of course I didn't like it but it was relastic, and what his attendant said after that, for me he just was telling the crown prince why the Muslim guy got mad, I felt he showed that we really care about our religion, so maybe the author wanted to show that by that sentence :) cuz if u read the sentence alone It's a beautiful sentence, so the prince wondered about what the Muslim guy did, and the attendant said what he felt from that incident, this my POV I explained it to u so maybe u can see it the way I see it, and read the comment under yours maybe u will feel what we felt more :) and in the end Only Allah knows everything the author thinks
And I think any clever author won't write something would make her Muslim readers angry, she even searched well about the dabbihah, so I think, not because there is people who are saying bad things about Islam and Muslims that we think everybody are like them, I know unmuslim who are different from those, soo I don't know what the author really think abt Islam so I'm not sure if she is a good person or not , but I won't judge her until I know her well :)
OK I'm here to say something, the author should have wrote the importance of the dabbihah cuz ppl (maybe)will just be like he made a fuss cuz he's blinded by his religion, cuz they are not like us know the good thing about it so they will think islam is strict or st like that, she as an author should be careful cuz a lot of ppl will read this and she shouldn't write something slightly, she described the dabbihah but didn't mention why the Muslim guy cared about it a lot and that because its actually very important, so I understand now Y u thought like that, she is talking about a religion and any ideas may stick in the readers mind whether it's good or not.she didn't show the beautiful about Islam and his teaching and I don't think she even knows that.
