i think the author foreshadows this a lot. even genos said that one day if everyone decided to turn against sensei saitama, he would definitely be on saitama's side :(
the times saitama's power were acknowledged is when everyone started to turn against him, even s-class flashy flash attacked him cuz he can't believe saitama able to stop his abnormal speed attack. author foreshadows many times when saitama fights in front of people that this happens. im fucking scared when everyone knows his power, it will be "saitama vs everyone" fight.
